I will vfx paint and prep compositing tracking matt painting

The goal is to create a "Clean Plate"—a version of the shot where it looks as if the film crew was never there. Key tasks include:

• Rig and Wire Removal: Digitally painting out harnesses, safety wires, or mechanical rigs used for stunts and actor movement.
• Marker Removal: Removing high-contrast "tracking markers" (usually green or blue tape) placed on sets to help software track camera movement.
• Object Removal: Deleting unwanted elements like microphones, light stands, power lines, or even modern cars in a period piece.
• Beauty Work: Subtly retouching actors by removing blemishes, stray hairs, or digital artifacts.
• Plate Reconstruction: Using "clone painting" or "projections" to rebuild parts of the background that were covered by a moving object.
• Grain Management: Removing digital noise/film grain before painting and reapplying it afterward so the fix is invisible.
• VFX Prep is often considered an "entry-level" role into 2D Compositing, but it requires a master's level of patience and a "pixel-perfect" eye. If the prep work is sloppy—for example, if a background texture "crawls" or "jitters"—the entire visual effect will fail to look realistic, no matter how good the CGI is

Note: In smaller studios, Paint/Prep and Rotoscoping (tracing around objects) are often combined into one role. In large features, they are distinct departments that feed their work into the Compositing team
